Cahuenga Pass, North Hollywood, 1890. In the center was a coach stop owned by Geronimo Lopez where people would stay overnight. The road was so narrow that if two teams of horses met, the heaviest won and the lighter had to back down. The pass was considered very dangerous: lightning would strike the horses during storms; Miguel Leonis died in the Pass in 1889 when his wagon overturned.

The Pacific Electric San Fernando Valley Line enters the median of the Hollywood Freeway, and will continue in the median to the end of the freeway, at Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue in Studio City.


After crossing the top of the pass,
outbound trains descend into the Barham Boulevard stop.
